Half-Time Report
2006
Unfortunately due to the growing popularity of AFL in Sydney,
it is not possible for the club to send all of our Auskick juniors to
participate in this event each year.
Originally we were only given 9 x players for selection,
however due to the fact that some clubs in our region felt it unfair to
choose 9 x kids from their club, where they field only 1 x team of
approximately 12 players, they relinquished their positions which in turn
have been granted to Holsworthy, Ingleburn & Camden (Each club has 3 x
Auskick Teams) Therefore we are very lucky to be able to select 18 kids from
our 42 Auskick player base.
The committee this year has developed a set of criteria that
we believe to be the fairest way for us to select our Auskick participants.
We believe this criteria will ensure that all Auskick players have at least
one opportunity to participate in this type of event before they progress
into U/10 competition.
The committee has agreed to develop and maintain a register
of those players that participate in an Auskick half-time match and this
register will be accessible on the Holsworthy Tigers Website shortly.
I'd like to make a special mention to the players from our
Auskick that were fortunate enough to be selected to play on Saturday
evening at the SCG at the half time break between the Sydney Swans &
Essendon Match.
